Trupti Kitchen is a senior citizen-community kitchen program that supports and provides two-time meals to villagers over 65 years of age with no source of income, people with disabilities, destitute, widows, and elderly orphans. The program operates with a participatory approach. The idea behind the participatory contribution was to instill a sense of ownership in the beneficiaries. The foundation of initiating a kitchen for senior citizens was laid down in the year 2016. Since then, MANAVLOK is running the program and is also supporting the elderly in their healthcare by providing them with sticks, wheelchairs, and solar lamps, and conducting cataract operations regularly.
Due to no support from their families, senior citizens often feel socially excluded and lonely. To make them feel special, wanted, and loved, we celebrate their birthdays by preparing special feasts along with a variety of snacks and sweets for them.
